“WASHINGTON (The Borowitz Report Report) —- Donald J. Trump on Tuesday signed an executive order stripping the children of immigrant mothers of their citizenship, thus disqualifying him from being President of the United States.”

This is a joke that Andy Borowitz chose to make. Laugh.

“The constitutional crisis,” Borowitz continued, “came to light moments after the signing ceremony, when —” basically Borowitz said it’s a dumb thing. Laugh at the thing, for it is dumb.

Borowitz wrote his oke in the present tense, though these events have yet to happen. In doing so, he has utilized a common tool of satire. Unfortunately for the New Yorker writer, it doesn’t help. Laugh, though you find no mirth in your heart. Laugh.

“Hey wait, wasn’t your mother from Scotland?” is the point that Borowitz has a young girl make. This is an observation. Laugh, though the world seems dark and endless, a shapeless form winding forever towards misery.

Borowitz could not be reached for comment, but then again, I did not try. Laugh.
